This Thirst

driftwood1

my heart aches
the muscles constricting
the flesh binding
physics distract
these pointed moments
and radiating agitations
that climb my skin
grasping for foot holes
while claiming stronger roots
only reach deeper gripping
dark rich earth
draping like a living cloak
that hugs soft
comforting this floating rock
perching untethered
lucky and thankful
to the luxurious being belt
where rushing waters grace
quench, drench, cool
this thirst
and spinning, spilling lust
spirals, tide, and pools
collect and envelop
feeding such trust
